Dwyer welcomes $400,000 funding boost for community-led projects

Member for Port Macquarie, Robert Dwyer is encouraging local grassroots organisations to apply for funding to deliver projects that bring people together and strengthen communities.

Applications are now open for the NSW Government’s Stronger Together Project Grants with $400,000 available to support community led initiatives across the Port Macquarie electorate.

Mr Dwyer said grants of between $20,000 and $50,000 would help local organisations deliver practical projects that respond to community needs and create lasting positive outcomes.

“This funding is about backing local organisations that understand their communities and know where support is needed most,” Mr Dwyer said.

“We want to see projects that bring people together, break down barriers and strengthen social cohesion across our community.”

The Stronger Together Project Grants program supports initiatives that:

• help new migrants and refugees settle and participate in their communities
• break down barriers to social and economic participation
• build intercultural and interfaith connections and networks
• strengthen community resilience and support communities through challenging times.

Successful projects will be delivered between 1 January and 31 December 2027.

Mr Dwyer encouraged eligible community organisations to consider how they could use the funding to make a meaningful difference locally.

“Our grassroots organisations play an important role in creating connected, inclusive and resilient communities,” Mr Dwyer said.

“I encourage local groups with a great idea to put forward an application and take advantage of this opportunity.”

Applications close at 4pm on Monday, 14 September 2026.
