OXLEY HIGHWAY CAMPAIGN GOING STRONG

Hundreds of local residents have voiced their concerns about traffic congestion by submitting feedback on the Transport for NSW website, calling for urgent upgrades to the Oxley Highway between Wrights Road and Lake Road in Port Macquarie.

Member for Port Macquarie, Robert Dwyer said the community response to the campaign had grown rapidly.

“When we launched this campaign two weeks ago, there were around 60 pins highlighting congestion on the map. That number has now grown to hundreds, making it one of the most concentrated clusters of feedback along the NSW coastline,” Mr Dwyer said.

“I am encouraging as many people as possible to lodge their feedback directly through the Transport for NSW website. Community data and formal submissions are key drivers of infrastructure investment decisions.

“We need more people to participate to send a clear message to the Government that action is needed now to address this growing congestion problem.”

Mr Dwyer said thousands of motorists rely on this section of the Oxley Highway every day to travel to work, attend school, access medical services and operate their businesses.

“Congestion along this stretch of road is more than just an inconvenience. It impacts productivity, road safety and the overall quality of life for our community,” he said.

Mr Dwyer said strategic upgrades including potential intersection improvements, traffic flow enhancements and additional safety measures could significantly reduce delays and improve efficiency for motorists.

“I strongly encourage anyone who experiences delays or safety concerns on this section of road to take a few minutes to share their feedback. When our community speaks with one voice, it sends a powerful message,” Mr Dwyer said.
