Regional Clubs Raise Over $70,000 for Flood Affected Farmers

Thirteen regional clubs have collectively raised more than $70,000 to support farmers impacted by the devastating floods of May last year.

Member for Port Macquarie, Robert Dwyer said, “The fundraising effort brought together clubs from across the region with the support of Clubs NSW, highlighting the strong community spirit and commitment to supporting those affected by natural disasters.”

Contributing clubs include Club North Haven, Club Old Bar, Club West (Taree West Bowling Club), Kempsey RSL, Kempsey Bowlo, Crescent Head Country Club, Laurieton United Services Club, Westport Club, Panthers Port Macquarie, Gloucester Memorial Club (Club Gloucester), Club Harrington, Port City Bowling Club and Wingham Ex Services Club.

The total amount raised to date stands at $70,445.80, subject to final confirmation from the Mid Coast Dairy Advancement Group.

“The contribution would provide much needed assistance to farmers as they continue to recover from the impacts of the floods.

“This incredible result reflects the generosity of our local communities and the dedication of our clubs,” Mr Dwyer said.

“Clubs wanted to contribute to those affected by the floods and the result is a testament to their community engagement.

“We are proud to stand behind our farmers and support their recovery during such a challenging time,” Mr Dwyer said.

The funds will be administrated by the Mid Coast Dairy Advancement Group to go towards supporting farmers that need it the most with recovery efforts, helping them rebuild and get back on their feet following the widespread flooding.
