DONATE FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IF YOU CAN

Member for Port Macquarie, Robert Dwyer is encouraging anyone in our community who can afford to make a donation for victims of the devastating flood to donate through GIVIT.

“GIVIT is helping people impacted by the flooding on the Mid North Coast in partnership with the NSW Government, local councils and recovery organisations to help people affected by the floods and storms to get essential goods and services they need.

“By donating through GIVIT, people can choose to give money, furniture or time and skills, grocery and fuel vouchers to help during the disaster with 100% of donated funds going directly to support people impacted,” Mr Dwyer said.

“People can also see what is needed in flood affected areas either here in the Hastings Valley or in the Manning Valley by going to www.givit.org.au. Donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductable.

“I have toured the Port Macquarie electorate over the past week and have seen first-hand the extent of the flood damage across so many communities.

“I’ve also witnessed the incredible volunteer support and the wonderful work of all the emergency service organisations and the hundreds of men and women helping complete strangers to clean up,” Mr Dwyer said.

“I am encouraging anyone impacted by the devastating floods to reach out for help.

“Recovery Centres will begin from tomorrow (Tuesday 27th May) in Taree at the Manning United Church in Albert Street until Friday and in Port Macquarie at the PCYC in Owen Street from Wednesday till Friday,” Mr Dwyer said.
